Our goal is simple: We want to nurture, advance and protect the integrity of every child in school.
|
How are we going to attain this? By asking you, our community members, to help us by donating new or extremely very gently used clothing to outfit children in our school that for any number of reasons, do not qualify for clothing thru outreach programs. We have single parents, foster parents, grandparents and other caregivers that are working long hours in one or more jobs all the while trying to figure out how they can pay all the necessary bills (gas/food/mortgage or rent and utilities) and still purchase clothes for growing kids. Some just can't do it. This is where this program comes in and this is where we need you to help by stepping up and donating clothes, shoes, money and gift cards. We've all been in the position where we want to help but there are so many charities and programs to choose from we get confused and more often than not, we put it off until later. Well, later has arrived! Please go to our donation page and find out you can act now and start helping out local children and feel like you are finally part of the solution. By providing families needing this program with an enjoyable, confidential and private way of purchasing clothes and an incredible fraction of what they retail for, we can outfit all of our children and in turn raise money to supply brand new undergarments, socks and emergency clothing to children thru-out the school year as needed. How did you feel the last time you bought a new article of clothing or pair of shoes? Pretty good? Now imagine helping a child, or several children, to obtain that same emotion by providing them with something new. It's proven that children who go to school with clean, well fitting clothes, shoes, coats and school supplies have higher self esteem, perform better in class as well as relating better to their peers without being self conscious or embarrassed. Remember, this is not a handout program, but a clothing assistance program where you can purchase new or very gently used clothing items twice a year at greatly reduced prices (Think $1-$5 per item. Wouldn't that be fabulous to clothe your child (children) for about $10-$12 per complete outfit? We're talking coats, pants, shirts, shoes and socks! We want to help you worry about one less thing. The money the PTA makes at these sales will help provide coats, clothes and other items to kids thru-out the year. By helping us make "Let's Clothe our Kids" a success, we hope to promote this to other schools in Snohomish County and eventually all over the country. By each of us just giving a little bit of ourselves, we can become that village that raises it's children together. Every single child deserves this program.
Thank you very much for your help!
